Built of steel in Fredrikshavn to replace the previous Georg Stage as a schoolship for the Danish merchant marine. She was rigged as a full-rigged ship carrying royals over single topgallant sails and double topsails, and was equipped with an auxiliary engine.The Georg Stage still serves her original purpose; the trainees stay aboard for five months learning seamanship and related subjects. She is the smallest sailing full-rigged ship in the world.
