Built of iron by Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow for Greenshields, Cowie & Co., Liverpool. She was rigged as a three-masted full-rigged ship carrying royals over single topgallant sails. She was used on the Australian emigrant trade.

Sold to H.P Breckwoldt Jr., Hamburg and renamed Montrosa.
- 1898
Sold to Manuel Eriksson et.al., Åland Islands.
- 1916
The vessel's crew attempted to sink the ship but she was salvaged to Hull.
- October 1928
Sought refuge in Cuxhaven severely damaged by a storm in the North Sea. Towed to London and condemned.
- 1929
Sold to Brugge, Belgium to be scrapped.
