Built of steel by Joh C Tecklenborg, Geestemünde for Reederei F. Laeisz, Hamburg. She was Laeisz' first and only five-masted barque, and carried royals over double topgallant sails. She sailed on the South American nitrate trade until the outbreak of World War I, and proved herself very profitable for Laeisz, being able to take 6000 tons of cargo.

Sold to Bremen.
- 1920
Handed over to the French as war compensation. Soon thereafter sold to Soffia Gonzales & Co., Valparaiso and renamed the Flora.
- 1925
Sunk after her cargo of coal had caught fire and the crew had abandoned the ship.
